Occupational Health & Safety in the Workforce

At Lindsay Construction safety is a top priority. We recognize the safety risks inherent to our industry and are committed to effectively dealing with these risks on every Lindsay worksite. Our work is ongoing in expanding the safety culture at Lindsay while building staff safety awareness with the ultimate goal of zero loss-time accidents.

Paul Midgley, CHSC, CHSO (Manager, Occupational Health & Safety) and Carla Cummings (Safety Officer) work to train staff, monitor compliance, assess hazards, and liaise with clients, authorities, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field staff. Lindsay has raised the bar on safety and both Paul and Carla act as safety mentors, monitors, and authorities while ensuring we deliver to the highest standards.

In 2008 the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA) awarded Paul the James E. Spidell Memorial Award. This award is given annually to an individual who demonstrates ongoing commitment to Occupational Health and Safety and is exemplary as an OH&S Officer.

Carla joined the Lindsay Safety Team in 2009 and has been a great asset to the organization. Bringing 11 years of employment with the NSCSA Carla brings positivity and cohesiveness to Lindsay OH&S policies and procedures.

With their guidance, Lindsay seeks to meet or exceed all of the requirements by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and all OH&S Regulations.
