Fire Halls are structures with a unique combination of functional requirements. They must accommodate large vehicles, storage of specialized equipment, wet conditions in vehicle bays, office and dispatch uses, often assembly occupancy, and some are public buildings.
Lindsay has the experience, technical knowledge, and construction ability to design and construct very high functioning, cost effective, and architecturally pleasing Fire Halls.
Our portfolio of Fire Hall projects speaks for itself and is assurance that we will bring the benefit of experience to your own construction project.
Lindsay can provide optimal value during early stage involvement to produce conceptual design, budget, timeline, and other such fundamental construction program parameters. A successful project is ensured by providing a full turn-key Design-Build project delivery system.

| Brooklyn Fire Hall & Civic Centre (Brooklyn, Nova Scotia) The new Brooklyn Fire Department and Civic Centre is a 22,500 sq. ft., 2-storey Tilt-Up Concrete facility housing 5 truck bays, offices / support services, and a single storey community centre on the main level. Targeting LEED® Silver status, the highly efficient building envelope is outfitted with a geothermal heating and cooling system. Lindsay provided this highly efficient system by utilizing adjacent land to house a horizontal geothermal field, all at one-third the cost of the traditional methods which utilize multiple verticle wells. "The new building is a lot bigger and a lot nicer. It's been a good experience," says RIck Sherard, Brooklyn Town Engineer. "If I had questions or concerns, I went straight to Lindsay's Project Manager. He kept me informed and any issues were resolved quickly." |
