QEII Health Sciences Expansion & Parkade
East Port Properties, with Lindsay as their construction team member, completed this major addition to the hospital (in August 2003) along with a 187,000 sq. ft. 654-car parking facility at the Robie Street entrance.
On-site conditions were complicated due to previous infilling of the site with demolition rubble. The parkade was eventually constructed on structural fill and includes long span pre-topped double T construction which gives large, open, well-lit areas for parking and security.
The pre-cast double tee's incorporate silica fume concrete in the topping portions which enhances the durability and corrosion resistance of this state-of-the-art parking system.
The facia was designed to fit in with the existing street scape and blend into the hospital which it serves.

Shannex
Taking Tilt-Up Concrete to new heights, this impressive structure covers 150,000 sq. ft. of floor area featuring 180-beds across three wings, each with an outside veranda and large sitting rooms.
Shannex Nursing Home is location in Clayton Park and was completed in July of 2001. The Tilt-Up wall panels provide a means to express some of the facility's distinctive architecture while also becoming the exterior finish, thermal resistance, structure and interior finish.
The challenges of such an unusual Tilt-Up project were many. The 140 panels ranged in size from 6,000 to 59,000 lbs. indicating the diversity inherent in the project. The tallest of these panels was 37'-7" high. Working with varying storey heights, insulated sandwich panels, and plain panels, Lindsay also had to cope with limited space requiring extensive use of casting beds.
