Granite Drive Plaza
(New Minas, Nova Scotia)

New Minas enjoys the reputation as a shopping hub of the Annapolis Valley. With the new development of Granite Drive Plaza, that reputation has grown even stronger. From empty space to shopping mecca, Lindsay Construction has made a key contribution bringing the following retail facilities to the area.

GIANT TIGER for Giant TIger Stores Limited

- 25,000 sq. ft. retail store constructed of conventional steel, split face block, metal cladding, and EIFS;

ALIA & TANJA for Nygard

- 3,400 sq. ft. fit-up for clothing retail store featuring custom millwork;

FUTURE SHOP for Best Buy Canada Ltd.

- 20,090 sq. ft. fit-up which shares a common wall with Winner;

WINNERS for Plaza Retail Properties Ltd.

- 25,200 sq. ft. box store for which Lindsay installed roofing and metal siding; and

MICHAEL'S for Plaza Retail Properties Ltd.

- 18,6470 sq. ft. store featuring conventional steel, EPDM roofing, split face block, EIFS, and metal cladding.

Sobeys (Penhorn Mall - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) National grocery retailer, Sobeys, has opened a new Tilt-Up Concrete grocery store in the Halifax Regional Municipality. This 44,000 sq. ft., single-storey building has an open interior shopping area with mezzanines to house offices, staff lunch room, and a community room for public use. Brick veneer details highlight the building entrance and complement the finished Tilt-Up Concrete panel design. " Using Tilt-Up was a cost-effective decision," comments Perry Kossatz, Sobeys Construction Manager. "The overall outcome was an appealing store that was on time and on budget. The Penhorn Sobeys project, with the Lindsay Team, was very successful in achieving the goals for both the Builder and the Owner."

Crombie REIT: Strip Mall (Penhorn Mall Site - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) Just across the parking lot from Sobeys, Lindsay erected a 21,000 sq. ft. multi-tenant strip mall of conventional steel. Crombie REIT requested that a variety of materials be used for the exterior for added architectural interest. With this in mind Lindsay incorporated EIFS exterior wall cladding, metal siding, and brickwork into the exterior design with aesthetically pleasing results.
