Annapolis Royal Nursing Home - Addition

(Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia)

The construction of a 12-bed, 10,000 sq. ft., single storey addition to Annapolis Royal Nursing Home presented special challenges for Lindsay as General Contractor. As the main building remained occupied during the renovation, the priority was to minimize disruption while protecting residents from infectious agents that can be released during construction.

Wickwire Holm

(Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, Wickwire Holm’s 14,000 sq. ft. 2-storey office space reflects the prestigious law firm’s commitment to respond to an ever-changing business environment.

Lindsay Construction acted as General Contractor for this high-end renovation which took place in 5 carefully orchestrated phases beginning in June of 2008. The project required a superior level of finishes including everything from marble tile in the lobby, to detailed walnut millwork in recessed window partitions, and copious glass mosaic tile in the kitchen. Walls were re-worked and, in some cases, relocated to change the configuration of individual offices. Electrical and plumbing also received modifications in addition to new ceilings, flooring, and paint throughout the entire two floors.

Lindsay’s greatest challenge lay in working around office staff and building tenants, all of whom were present during the renovations. The end result is a beautiful and modern space that reflects the spirit of Wickwire Holm.

Buildings 1-D & 1-E

(Dartmouth Crossing, Nova Scotia)

Located off Highway 118, Dartmouth Crossing integrates big box stores with neighbourhood style boutique shops for local specialty retailers, complimented by amenities such as movie theatres, restaurants, and hotel.

The Lindsay team erected the 80,000 sq. ft. Building 1-D and 48,000 sq. ft. Building 1-E using conventional steel with brick and masonry exterior cladding. Housing familiar names such as Staples, Michaels, and SportChek (among others) these two base buildings were constructed using traditional steel frame with a flat roof and exterior brick with stone accents in keeping with the upscale neigborhood village theme.

Construction was finished in March of 2007, with Lindsay completing tenant upfits for Staples and Linens N Things shortly thereafter.

"Dartmouth Crossing has been really pleased with Lindsay's work." says Noel Sampson, North American representative. "They've provided great service and expertise and have delivered on time, which is important to us."
