ROOF SYSTEMS

Expertise, availability, reliability, and strong communication are qualities essential to any effective service. These qualities certainly apply to the service of roofing. Leaks will not wait and require exceptional skills to find and repair them before causing serious damage.

Lindsay has a team of Roofing Service Specialists dedicated to providing reliable, effective, and timely roofing service. Their mantra is 'whatever it takes, whenever required.'

Whether the job is to make adjustments for new roof top equipment, find and repair a leak, or conduct routine maintenance - our Roofing Service Team is up to the task.

The crowning achievement of any construction project is its roof. Roofing systems must be durable enough to withstand the toughest weather yet diverse enough to meet all types of individual building requirements.

Lindsay's Roofing Service Group is widely recognized as being one of the industry's best commercial and industrial roofing contractors. We have an in-depth knowledge of all roofing materials available, having installed thousands of roofs with speed, expertise, and a commitment to quality.

Since 1982, Lindsay has been applying commercial and industrial roof systems including EPDM, PVC, TPO, Metal and Slate.

Lindsay is highly regarded by premier roofing system manufacturers, including Carlisle, VicWest, and Sarnafil, for our commitment to quality, workmanship, and training. Our roofing team has received international professional recognition for their expert workmanship, including an induction into the Carlisle Hall of Fame in 1995.

Hurricane Juan was a very stark reminder that not all roof service can be planned. If you have a roofing emergency simply phone our office and ask for Roofing Services.

Dominion Building - Copper Dome Reinstatement

(Bedford Row - Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Original plans for this historic, 1920's building were used as a model for the roof reconstruction, designed by DFS Architects in Montreal, in collaboration with local firm
CBCL Limited.

Lindsay's reinstatement of the dome began with stripping away the 25-year old Monel covering down to the original wood boards. Worn and rotted, the wood was repaired and covered with a blueskin membrane before hundreds of handcrafted copper pieces were installed to recreate the original look of the roof. Much of this work was done over the winter months, with wind chill adding to the technical challenge of curved and flat pieces meeting at the corners, converging to an elaborate finial at the apex.

The effort wasn't lost on Emery Peters, Project Manager, Public Works and Government Services Canada. "I have heard nothing but praise about not only how the roof looks, but the quality. Not only is Public Works pleased, but the architects are too. A very commendable job."

Air Canada: Hangar Re-Roof

(Halifax Stanfield Internation Airport - Enfield, Nova Scotia)

This roofing project for Air Canada was extremely challenging for a multitude of reasons.

Not only was the roofing crew 80 ft. in the air, battling constant wind and elements, but the

roof is also scalloped, not flat.

With approximately 25-30 ft. radius between each peak, the Lindsay crew was constantly working on a slope. Workers also had to be sensitive to rigid security measures. Air Canada's Maintenance Manager, Mark Ballard, gave credit to the entire team. "Everything went very smoothly. From the foreman to the workers, they handled everything very well." He also commends the partnership between Lindsay and Byrne Architects as being a winning team.

"It seems to be doing the trick. FleeceBack is a good, flexible application for this building."
